Hey everybody. Hope you are all having a good week. So we were planning a pretty amazing podcast for this week. The subject was/will be DMT (Dimethyltryptamine). We were going to do a podcast discussing our thoughts leading up to our DMT experience, a little bit during, and then a discussion after with all of those involved. I thought it would be interesting and its something that some regular guests and myself have been looking to explore with. However, we tried to make it happen this past Saturday but the device we were using to get it into our bodies was ineffective. We will be rescheduling for a future podcast so stay tuned. We will be back next Tuesday with a podcast recorded at the 4th annual Bronx Pipe Smoking Society’s Small Game Dinner hosted by our good friend, Baron Ambrosia. The good Baron is a dear friend and after attending last year’s event, I am extraordinarily excited to talk to him and several of his attendee’s. In the meantime, hit this:
Today’s guest is Catfish. Catfish would never want to admit this because he is a humble dude, but he is a bit of a legend in Savannah. He won lifetime tickets to see their minor league baseball team by sleeping in the stadium for over a week, he played Tommy Ramone in the CBGB’s movie, he was a bartender at Pinky Masters (arguably one of the most legendary bars in America) and thats just the tip of the iceberg that is Catfish. He is an incredibly gracious individual and I was honored to have him on the podcast. Very rarely in life do you run across truly genuine people who appreciate the world they live in, and he is one of them. Dig it.[audio https://whatbringsustogether.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/episode-50-catfish.mp3%5D
I recently saw the documentary “Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony”. When the movie was over, I was left in a state of shock. I watch a lot of documentaries, but rarely do they leave me feeling this good about the world we live in. To make a very long story shorter, I soon found out that someone I knew was indeed a Brony. I got in touch with him and he agreed to sit down to be interviewed. His name is Chris and he is one hell of a guy and we had one of my favorite conversations I have had yet doing this podcast.
Chris did want me to mention that the man he was talking about who attempted suicide (partially because of the ridicule he endured from being a Brony) is making some progress toward recovery. You can learn more about him and help donate to his medical bills at http://www.michaelmorones.org. If you guys could do anything to help, it would be the Brony thing to do. Hope you dig the chat.
The Beatles are a band that have had a significant impact on many music lovers lives. However, every so often you run into folks who think that they get too much credit and are drastically overrated. This is a discussion with my friend Jeff who is of that mindset. Its an interesting discussion about a band that changed the world by two guys who werent there when it happened. So you know, the first ten minutes of our talk we are geeking out about books that we love. Jeff is a witty fellow and we had a great discussion. Hope that you dig it.[audio https://whatbringsustogether.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/episode-48-beatles-no-beatles.mp3%5D
