Episode 61: Social Media Frenzy

In the last week and a half, we have seen a surge of internet philanthropy…but more often than that we have seen a surge of people (albeit raising awareness for something important) soaking themselves in ice water in the name of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. A name few of us have ever heard. In fact, if you spell out the entire thing as opposed to abbreviating it as ALS, most of us still don’t know what it is. Why is that?

Hashtag activism has been on the rise in recent years. On today’s podcast, myself and returning guest, Mike Mulvihill take a look at as to why.

Episode 60: Summer Mix

So I’m one of those people that loved making mix tapes for people. Mix tapes turned to CD’s which has now turned to MP3’s. You dont even have to hand someone a mix anymore, you can just send it to them and they can be halfway across the globe and have it in minutes. That was the old man in me being mesmerized by technology. Anyway, I wanted to make you guys a mix, with just a lil’ bit of commentary. I’ve been having a great summer and I wanted to share that with you. Hope that you dig it.

Episode 59: Har Mar Superstar

I have listened to Har Mar Superstar’s latest record, Bye Bye 17, pretty much nonstop since I bought it back in March of this year. I bought it the day after seeing one of his shows at SXSW.  Since then, any time I talk to anyone about great records of the last year, I make sure to tell them that it is at the top of my list. This interview is easily one of my favorites that we have done and I hope you all enjoy it.
